A well-written services section means you’re working smarter not harder and avoiding endless “what do you offer” texts. Being able to give the client what they want (even if they don’t know it yet) and draw them into booking you is the goal!
How is your business unique? What do you offer?
You don’t have to offer things you don’t like or that are unsafe, just to be different from your competitors, it’s in all the way you present yourself. If you are the only one of multiple profiles a client has browsed that has clearly described what you provide, then you’re already ahead! If you offer extras such as strap-on or anal play then make sure you advertise it, don’t assume a client will make contact to ask, they’ll probably choose someone else who clearly offers what they seek.
Give clients a clear sense of what to expect
In our first blog of this series, we discussed hints and tips for writing your about me section. Taking the time to write an informative services section is just as important in tickling your client’s imagination and encouraging them to book you. Give them something to sink their teeth into, more than vague one-liner “up for anything”. If you use common industry terms such as “sensual massage, full service, girlfriend experience and porn star experience” take a moment to clearly state what each service means to you, as a client may interpret them differently to you.
What services should I include in my massage, girlfriend experience or porn star experience?
Deciding what services to offer can be trying. As a baseline, I’d suggest researching what other providers in your area are offering and finding what the happy medium is, you don’t want to price yourself out of the market, or be giving services that are not standard away for free!
Its common to see “full service” as being sex and a blowjob, with DATY and kissing being possible extras. Girlfriend experience may include kissing and DATY, as commonly seen in agencies, and Porn Star sessions are usually a raunchier session and may include tie and tease, spanking, costumes, toys etc. Then there are fetishes such as anal play, greek, strap-on, watersports, BDSM, kinks and rimming, do you add them in a package or as an extra charge? The answer: DO WHAT FEELS COMFORTABLE TO YOU
What are you comfortable offering?
At the end of the day design your service around what you enjoy or are comfortable providing. I stopped offering Greek (anal sex) because I wasn’t enjoying it with the majority of clients asking for it, and now I only offer it to established regulars. At first I worried about the money I would lose, but in the end, those dollars were not worth the anxiety of providing a service that I felt uncomfortable offering.
And finally a reminder about the law in New Zealand regarding sex work.
Section 9 of the Prostitution Reform Act (PRA 2003) stipulates that both sex workers and clients must adopt safer sex practices. We, therefore, ask all advertisers to not advertise any acts that would be deemed illegal.
Sex workers and clients must adopt safer sex practices
(1) A person must not provide or receive commercial sexual services unless he or she has taken all reasonable steps to ensure a prophylactic sheath or other appropriate barrier is used if those services involve vaginal, anal, or oral penetration or another activity with a similar or greater risk of acquiring or transmitting sexually transmissible infections.
(2) A person must not, for the purpose of providing or receiving commercial sexual services, state or imply that a medical examination of that person means that he or she is not infected, or likely to be infected, with a sexually transmissible infection.
(3) A person who provides or receives commercial sexual services must take all other reasonable steps to minimise the risk of acquiring or transmitting sexually transmissible infections.
(4) Every person who contravenes subsection (1), subsection (2), or subsection (3) commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000.
